[AD] The past 2 years have been some what of an adventure but not one that I would ever have picked. Life is so different now to what it was 2 years ago and it really has been a huge rollercoaster of a ride to get to where I am today. By no stretch of the imagination has it been a fun ride, more like a neverending ghost train stuck on full speed. I’m in need of an adventure. An adventure that takes me far away from the winter weather in the UK. An adventure that includes some winter sun and plenty of relaxation.
One thing that I am really looking forward to is an adventure where I am able to truly relax and have a break from the every day. It’s been three years since I had a proper holiday where I went away and was able to totally relax. I have been away in the past few years but these trips have all been long weekends away in the UK, although there have been great times, my heart is yearning for a trip abroad where I can totally relax and forget about the mundane of cooking, cleaning, washing and most importantly work. A break where I can forget about the lonely aspects of working from home where I spend hours sat in front of my computer with nobody for company but my cats. As loving as they are, it’s always nice to be socialise around other humans!
A relaxing break is certainly something that is on the cards for next year. A break that will give me the opportunity to do more than just survive which is what the last 2 years have felt like. A break that also includes exploring local cultures and sampling traditional dishes like street food and also resturants that locals dine at.
A break where the weather is nice, not too hot but warm enough to walk around in a t-shirt and feel some sun on my skin which is something that is long over due. A chance to soak up some rays and with a bit of luck raise my vitamin D levels which are terribly low despite taking high doses; this is something that I have always struggled with but even more so since I was in the coma last year.
Right now the perfect getaway would be a beautiful quiet all inclusive destination with the winter sun shining down all day allowing me to relax with a good book in one hand and a cocktail in the other. Now what’s not to love about that?
