My 5 Favourite Welsh Beaches

21st June 2017 by Candace 15 Comments

I love Wales and if I’m honest Welsh beaches are as hot as I can stand. I don’t do heat. But these are my 5 favourite beaches. All in North Wales

Tywyn

The Welsh seaside town that I always holidayed at and I actually lived there for 3 years. Beautiful and sandy.

Averdovey

Just a few miles south from Tywyn. Again a lovely sandy beach.

Welsh Beach
Barmouth

The popular Welsh holiday town again has a lovely sandy beach.

Cricceith

Travelling further north you reach the quaint town of Cricceith with the castle looking down upon the beach. Such a stunning view from the castle of the sandy beach.

Cemaes

A new discovery on the island of Anglesey. This lovely village boasts not only a beautiful sandy beach but also a harbour.

Welsh Beach
As well as fabulous sandy beaches in Wales there are also plenty of other reasons to visit Wales with many things to see, do and eat.  Where is your favourite beach?

I wish I’d seen this list years ago. We decided to visit Wales because embarrassingly, I’d never been there. I googled it to death and finally settled on a beach I can’t remember the name of but no where near as nice as these. It was Autumn though. Thanks! For next time…

Love the beaches in North Wales as the are mostly sandy where as the further south you go the more pebbles there are. But believe me some if these beach look a little grim at certain times of the year

I love Borth – some pebbles, some sand, great for body boarding with the kids as it stays shallow for ages, and Ynyslas.

I so love that coast. My favourite is Benar Beach at Tal y Bont, between Barmouth and Harlech.
