Last week I wrote about our trip to Llandudno that we had taken a while back. We had four days away in North Wales and made the most of things. We actually stayed in Conwy, in a lovely hotel I have stayed at three times now. All the rooms are decorated in their own individual style and the beds are huge!
We had gone to Llandudno to eat o our first evening at The Cottage Loaf and had gone back to Llandudno the following day to have a walk around and afternoon tea. We also went up to the top of the Great Orme on the cable cars.
On the Sunday we felt like a calmer day and decided to stay in Conwy. We booked in for Sunday Lunch at The Castle Hotel and we’re certainly not disappointed. The roast beef and cocktails were amazing. I need to have my meat well cooked as I get ill if I don’t. This is my other half’s lunch as in his words mine looked like it had been crucified and was certainly not instagram material. It doesn’t matter what it looked like as it didn’t make me ill!
There was a large helping of beef and all the trimmings; roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, roasted veg, the most creamy mash and gravy.
The cocktails flowed followed by the afternoon spent looking around Conwy Castle and the town. We were so lucky with the weather and it was so lovely to have picked what seemed like the only bit of sun all month.
Lunch was such generous portions that we only needed one sandwich between us and of course this was accompanied by cocktails and G&Ts.
Conwy is a beautiful town with it’s castle and town walls sitting alongside the esturay. The Castle Hotel is a lovely place serving great food and cocktails and is a perfect base for touring the local sites in North Wales. The Castle Hotel also serve the most delightful afternoon tea which you can read about here when I visited last year.
