Whilst on my way back from a day in the Snowdonian National Park, we drove back to the Midlands via Shrewsbury.  It had been a rather long day and we decided to stop for something to eat.  About 10 miles from Shrewsbury we drove past a normal looking country pub.  From the outside The Windmill Inn in Rowton looked nothing special and we were expecting to find the standard pub menu.  How wrong we were. Back in July of 2012 be we finally became members of English Heritage.  We had been members of The National Trust for a number of years and it is fair to say that we had certainly used our membership to the full.  I soon discovered that there were so many other places we would be able to visit locally if we took up membership with English Heritage too.  Our first place of call was the pretty Shropshire town of Much Wenlock and Wenlock Priory.
