Today as part of my attempt to complete Blogmas; a post a day from 1 December until Christmas I thought I’d talk about spending time with friends and loved ones and enjoying the Christmas Cheer. With life being so hectic, so full on, so now now now life can actually pass us by. Too often we spend time glued to devises and call it social interaction. But how social are we?  Do we really get a real social interaction kick from talking to somebody online as opposed to actually sitting in the same room as them and actually conversing face… View Post

A few years ago I suddenly had 2 non believers.  Even now it makes me sad. Christmas would forever more be different from the ones that came before. Different….very very different. From that day, we will not have a visit to Santa, you see, they no longer believe. I am much more upset about this than they were. No longer will I see their faces light up when they meet that special man. No longer will they suddenly turn shy and go very quite, mouths open with an eye popping gaze. No longer will I creep around on Christmas Eve,… View Post

Christmas isn’t Christmas without homemade mince pies. Flaky buttery sweet pastry encasing rich mincemeat full to the brim with rich decadent fruits and that lovely sticky sauce. If you’re lucky it will also have a little alcohol, brandy for example, mixed in as well. My Grandmother was a tremendous sweet pastry cook. He pastry was to die for. A quite simple yet gorgeous tasting rough puff pastry recipe. A recipe I use from her hand written recipe book dating back to the 1930’s. In our house from about now there at least 1 batch (24) mince pies cooked every week.… View Post

Today as part of my attempt to complete Blogmas; a post a day from 1 December until Christmas I thought I’d talk about Christmas hair and make up.  By no means am I a beauty and hair expert but here are a few of my favourite party picks. 1 Urban Decay Naked Smokey Eye Palette I just adore the naked range of eye shadows by Urban decay.  The Naked Smokey palette has to be my go to palette for nights out.  I admit I struggle to do a stunning smokey eye but even I can get the smokey eye effects with these… View Post

The last few years I’ve thought long and hard about participating in a month long blogging challenge like Blogmas (1st to 25 December) or Blogtober (blog post every day in October). I think the sheer commitment to such a project has always put me off. But this year I’ve decided to go for it!  I hope to blog every day until Christmas Day with each blog post having a Christmas feel. I’ve made a list and checked it twice (pun intended) and just need a few more ideas to make 25 posts. It was far easier than I thought and… View Post

Autumn walks can be a wonderful way to escape the stresses and strains of modern life.  A time to be at one with nature as the seasons change.  A time to take in the changing colours and to simply watch the leaves fall.  A time to escape.  A time for reflection.  Life in the 21st Century can get hectic.  With everything that modern society throws at us it is natural that at times things can become too much.  The fast pace of life, a life that is lived 24/7 and has to be lived now can be overwhelming.  Add in… View Post

Last week I was invited the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre to see the new renovations that have been undertaken.  The interiors have been beautifully renovated in a Great Gatsby feel and are truly stunning; dark greys, white and mustard tones truly bring the theatre to life. Upstairs there is the newly renovated Arthur’s bar which is sponsored by Arthur Price Cutlery a 5 generation local family business.  The bar also has a number of private drinks booths which can be used by parties during theatre performances for at the table service during the intervals.  They are beautifully lit and give that… View Post
