Four Tips To Renovate Your Bathroom To Last For Years

18th September 2020 by Candace Leave a Comment

[AD] Your bathroom is a place in the home that’s used a lot, and so it can very quickly become a space where it needs a bit of a makeover. With that being said, here are four tips for renovating your bathroom to last for years.

Keep It Neutral

You want to keep the colour scheme fairly neutral if you plan on having this bathroom for a decade or more. Certain styles and trends are going to fall out of fashion and if you use anything too bold, then you might notice it wears visually a lot quicker. It’s worth going for beige, grey, black or white when it comes to picking the colours for tiles and worktops. If you want bright colours, then you can always feature them in any of the soft furnishings that you have. Things like towels, bath mats, and toilet mats can be your outlet to add colour, and the benefit of this is that they can be swapped out seasonally or whenever you fancy a change!

Hide The Tank Of Your Toilet

The tank of your toilet is something that can end up taking up extra room, but it can also be a bit of an eyesore too when it’s knackered. With your bathroom renovation, it’s worth considering hiding your toilet tank into the wall so that you just have the basin of the toilet sticking out. This can be really helpful for those spaces that are on the smaller side and therefore need to utilise all of the space where possible. Hiding it is certainly a good idea

Incorporate Some Storage

There are some essential signs you need a new bathroom, and when you do, it can be a good chance to incorporate some storage. This could be in the form of floating shelves, or perhaps a cupboard that can sit snuggly underneath the sink. There are lots of clever ways to incorporate storage in a bathroom, just make sure you get storage items that are going to be water-resistant and can withstand the moisture levels of the room.

Invest In The Essentials

There are certain things in the bathroom that you’ll use every day, and because of that, you should be investing in the quality rather than trying to get it cheaply. This includes things like your bathroom and shower, toilet, and sink. If you’re going to be using it every day, you might as well find something that’s going to bring you years and years of value. There are some beautiful bathroom pieces that you’ll want to feature in the space, like a rainfall shower or a stand-alone bathtub. You might as well add a bit of luxury to your new bathroom as this a space where you come to relax and wash away the day.

Renovating your bathroom is something that’s important to do every so often so that it keeps it in good condition and that you can continue to relax in the space. Use these tips to make your renovation a successful one.
