Downstairs Toilet Make Over

Blog post

For the past two years I have been slowly renovating my house bit by bit.  Recently I have decided on the look I want in my office and most rooms now are nearly finished.  The only rooms left to plan are the utility and down stairs toilet.  Being the smallest room in the house I REALLY want sometime wild and wacky in toilet.  No plain magnolia walls for me!

I came across an online site called wallsauce who specialise in bespoke wall murals and graffics that are either hung like wallpaper or have a sticky back.  It is really easy to order your mural from Wallsauce, you firsdt pick the design you want; yiou can even pick a photograph of your own to have made in to a mural.  You then mesure you wall (the site tells you to add an extra amount to enable the mural to be fitted to the edges) and then all that is left ios to pay for your purchase.  The site has over 1 million images to choose from so you are sure to find the one to suit your room.   Your mural when then be delivered to you in 3 to 4 working days. They have some fantastic designs and couple caught my eye for our toilet:

What is more patriotic than the Union Jack painted on to a brick wall?  Why not celebrate all that is Britich.  The Union Jack combining the red cross of St George, the white saltire of St Andrew and the red saltire of St Patrick is simply iconic.

Some great accessories to go with the Union Jack mural would be:

I’m not sure what it’s like in your house but sometime I think the only place I can get some peace and quite is in the bathroom.  What is better then than a bookshelf mural?  Inspirational decorating at it’s best!

Some vintage accessories would look good with the bookshelf mural:

What about some tropical fish swimming around the room?

Some accessories for a tropic fish themed room could include:

And finally I found this flamingo mural.  It is a little more fenimine and lighter in colour than the others which could work better with a small room.  Flamingos symbolize beauty, balance and grace. Pink can also be used to symbolize femininity and innocence.  Flamingos also tend to represent confidence and are often flirtatious.  Sounds like a  great vibe for the smallest room in the house to give off!

If I were to pick the flamingo mural I quite like these flamingo items to accessorise the room too:

I want a huge colour and design impact in the smallest room of our house and nothing says that more than a wall mural but what to pick?
