- Failure is not always a bad thing, it can teach us so much.
- Success may not always be the best thing for you.
- Beware of fair weather friends.
- Nobody really knows what goes on behind closed doors.
- Don’t continually say yes to others, it won’t make you happy.
- Don’t continually say no to yourself as that won’t make you happy either.
- You can’t control other people but you can control how you react to them.
- The lies we tell ourselves are more dangerous than the lies we tell others.
- You don’t have to like everyone.
- Everyone doesn’t have to like you.
- Grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
- First impressions can be wrong.
- Unless you have had identical life experiences as someone else you can never truly know how you would react to a certain situation.
- Life moves on even if you don’t.
- Knowing your own mind can be one of the hardest things.
- Too much time and energy is wasted on things you can’t change.
- It’s ok to get things wrong as long as you learn from the experience.
- Too much time is wasted comparing ourselves to others
- The older you become the more you realise how little you know.
- Asking for help is a strength not a weakness.
- The past is a lesson, not a punishment.

Sooo True! “Life isn’t fair.” “Grass isn’t always greener on the other side.” I have learned these lessons fast! Just because they have a good life on that side doesn’t mean it’s meant for me. What is good for them may not be good for me. Thus, “Success may not always be the best thing for you.” Life teaches us to be humble. I also have to agree with you on forgiveness. Forgiveness also means freedom. These are great lessons. Great post. Thank you for sharing.

Oh yes… number 5. I know the facade I had to put on for many years for various reasons. You never know what trauma someone may be going through and yet having to turn up day after day pretending things are okay. A great list!!

Oh I agree with all of these! Especially with the fact that there are people I won’t like & there are people who doesn’t like me 🙂 then it’s just important to learn to get along with them, if they’re ones you can’t avoid,

I love point 22! It’s taken me 32 years to figure that out. You must be able to grow from life experiences.

Hi! I’m learning new things all the time! One of the lessons I’ve particularly taken to heart in the last five years is “show up.” Show up to life, just exactly as I am. Show up for others, say yes to parties and dance recitals and mean it. Say no and mean it, too. Show up and don’t be afraid of what may come, trust yourself and the process.
Thank you for the post-and for the opportunity to share a little of my lessons over the years!
