I Can Buy My Own Flowers

Life has taken a huge turn since my birthday last month. A huge change in direction. A change I didn’t see coming but I’m thankful to the person who set these changes off. Thankful that they brought things to my attention. Thankful that I saw people for who they really are.

Things in my life suffered as it all unfolded over what seems like a very long 5 weeks but today life gets back on track.

Someone else’s actions won’t bring me down because I’m a girl who can buy my own flowers.

What a positive attitude to have. Things are sent to try us sometimes but having belief in ourselves is what keeps us going. Good luck to you x #TriumphantTales

I can pick or buy my own flowers with no problem. Doesn’t have to come from someone else.

A-men. I think my life started to fall into place when I came to that realization. I am in charge of making my own happiness. I am responsible for ME.

    <3 thanks for this reminder.

This is so true. My sister sent me the following poem years ago after a tough period, and your post reminds me of its message: https://www.scrapbook.com/poems/doc/7865.html

    Comes The Dawn

After a while you learn the subtle difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love doesn’t mean leaning
    And company doesn’t mean security,
And you begin to learn that kisses aren’t contracts
    And presents aren’t promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes open
With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child,
And you learn to build all your roads on today,
Because tomorrow’s ground is too uncertain for plans,
And futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight.
    After a while you learn
That even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure…
    That you really are strong,
And you really do have worth.
    And you learn and learn…
    With every goodbye you learn.
