29 Things That Make Me Happy

7th March 2018 by Candace 3 Comments

Part of my personal goals this year is to concentrate on my happiness.  For far too long I have relied on others to make happy times but to be honest that really hasn’t worked out too well.  I need to grab my happiness and make it a priority.  One thing I have learnt over the past few months is that life is far too short and I need to be proactive in the adventures I have. It is too easy to allow others to take charge of your happiness and as a result your life is suddenly, without warning, not on the path you imagined and you really aren’t happy.  That’s not to say that allowing others to help you find happiness isn’t always a bad thing.  We all need the support of positive people in our lives and as long as the people helping you have the same outlook on life, know your dreams and have the drive to help you achieve them then it can do no harm to let someone in to help.  What we need to do is learn how to recognise the ones who try to steer our paths in another direction and are progressing with their desires at the forefront instead of support you.  From now on I’m going to be in charge of my own happiness.

Here are 29 things that make me happy:

  1. Afternoon tea
  2. Cocktails
  3. Fresh flowers
  4. Buckets of tea
  5. Long and meaningful chats
  6. Being in Snowdonia
  7. Receiving snail mail letters
  8. Staying in quirky hotels
  9. Finding a pretty dress which fits perfectly
  10. Matching underwear
  11. Laughing so hard it hurts
  12. Scrapbooking
  13. A good cwtch
  14. Date Nights
  15. Lazy days
  16. Relaxing massages
  17. Taking photos
  18. Catching up with friends
  19. Cooked breakfasts
  20. No alarm mornings
  21. New PJs
  22. Having my hair washed at the hairdressers
  23. Manicures
  24. Baking cakes (and eating them too!)
  25. Planning adventures
  26. Roast dinners
  27. Pretty stationary, pencils and pens
  28. Late night talks
  29. Scented candles but not lighting them

I am hoping to achieve as many of these happy adventures as possible each month.  What makes you happy? Any things the same as me and what do you do to ensure you do more of what makes you happy?

All of the above plus – fresh clean bedding, cool side of the pillow, and a cup of tea in a proper tea cup.

    Rock and roll!

Love this. Knowing what makes you happy is the first step in taking action to make yourself more happier. One for me is fresh bed sheets, oh and cycling on a hot day!
