I not sure whether I am alone with this or not but I am one of these people who likes my own company. I really need to have some time each day on my own. It relaxes and calms me. I find I get quite overwhelmed if I don’t have this time on my own. I’d like to think it isn’t me being anti social but more taking care of my personal happiness and well being.
I’ve often found other people question this and say that they would get bored being on their own. I can understand how this could be hard for someone who isn’t used to taking time to be in their own company. As you start spending time by yourself, you’ll start to realise what you like and what you don’t like.
Here are 10 ideas for me time:
1 Get some fresh air. Perhaps go for a walk and really enjoy being outside with nature.
2 Find a hobby you enjoy.
3 Have a pamper session. Slap that face mask on, lie back and relax or give yourself a manicure.
4 Take a restorative nap. Even short a 20 minute naps are shown to recharge your batteries enough to help you regain energy.
5 Cook or bake something new that you’ve never tried before.
6 Grab a snack and watch a favourite movie.
7 Start a journal.
8 Go shopping and treat yourself with something you normally wouldn’t buy.
9 Start a gratitude list. Write down three things in your life you are grateful for.
10 Pop your headphones in and sing along to your favourite songs. Remember you are on your own so nobody will hear you!
What do you do for some alone time?

I totally agree. My time us at night when hubby is still downstairs and the kids are asleep. I read or have a soak. Watch things I want to. Uninterrupted bliss!!!

I love going out for a run by myself. I feel that I can just let random thoughts come into my head and think things through. I don’t have to worry about keeping up my pace with other runners. And it’s good exercise. So I feel great the rest of the day knowing that I did something that is good for me!

As someone who works from home, I spend FAR too much time indoors on my own. I definitely need to get out more! I do find creative pursuits really help me factor in quality ‘Me Time’ throughout the week but when crafting and home styling is the subject of your blog, it can be a double-edged sword and sometimes feel like a chore. Yep. I definitely need to get out more!! Lol Sue via #SocialSaturday

The little bit of time I have for me time is to pick up a good book and read.

I love having alone time and get up early every day so I can eat breakfast and have a cup of tea in peace. If I don’t get at least some time alone each day I feel completely out of sorts. My ideal alone time would be curling up with a good book x

I love making gratitude lists! And also shopping and taking naps. Taking needed naps does my body good! I also love writing, and journaling helps me relax too sometimes. However, aside from blog posting, I haven’t really had the chance to really journal in a long time.
