Review; Thai Meal And Cocktails At Siamais, Birmingham

26th July 2017 by Candace 3 Comments

[REVIEW] Last week I was very lucky to be invited along with Erica of 92 Three 30 for a Thai meal at cocktails at Siamais Thai Restaurant and Cocktail Bar.  Siamais is located in Brindley Place which is just off Broad Street in Birmingham.  Brindley Place is full of bars and restaurants and is a lovely place to visit in the warmer weather when you can sit and eat outside.  Siamais is a modern looking bar with a multitude of bird cages hanging from the ceilings.

Upon arrival we were shown to our table and our waiter talked to us about what we liked to drink then brought a bit of showmanship to the table with this ice and smoke skeleton cocktail.

siamaisFor starters I picked the Thai crab cakes.  They were delicious and the plum dipping sauce was just the perfect.

Erica had tempura prawns which lightly battered with chili and salt.

For mains I had chargrilled king tiger prawns.  They were delicious but due to a health problem I did find the chili to be a little hot.  I think if I hadn’t got a health issue the chili would have been fine.

Erica had stir fried beef in oyster sauce.

For dessert I had the salted caramel dessert.

Erica had the mango and passion fruit cheesecake.

Whilst we were dining I put a picture of the skull cocktail on my Facebook page and on the weekend when I was attending a charity event a couple of people who had seen this picture insisted we visited for cocktails.  Nothing beats a little bit of showmanship when making cocktails and when ice and fire are both involved you can’t go wrong.

As part of this review I was served a three course meal and a cocktail as part of Brum Bloggers.  The cocktails on Saturday were paid for by myself and my friends.
