Review; Seafood Lunch At Ondine, Edinburgh

9th August 2017 by Candace 6 Comments

Whilst on my Scottish adventure a few weeks ago, being a huge seafood fan I decided to see what Edinburgh had to offer.  I type seafood restaurants in Edinburgh in to google and was provided with a list of lovely seafood restaurants.  Only thing was I wanted a restaurant open on a Monday lunch time, sadly Monday lunch time seems to be a common time not to open.  After much searching I came across Ondine and read a few reviews which were rather positive.  I booked a table for Monday online and found the restaurant quite easily as it is not too far from the Royal Mile.

The staff were pleasant and recommended the most lovely white wine to compliment my meal.  After my order was taken I was brought bread and a potato souffle bite.

For starters I had duck parfait which was absolutely delicious which was served with apple jelly and brioche.

For main I had lobster thermidor a real favourite of mine.  This was so delicious.

For dessert I had strawberry pavlova which was amazing.  It really did taste as good as it looks.

This was followed by a lovely glass of port and a pot of tea with handmade fudge.

The meal was delicious and really was one of the nicest seafood meals I have had.  The menu was very extensive with a lovely selection of fresh UK seafood available.

Ondine is a proper seafood restaurant. From the first day that Ondine’s doors opened, we wanted to create an atmosphere
where people can roll up their sleeves and truly relax. Based in the heart of Edinburgh’s historic Old Town, we offer the finest seafood
and shellfish from the East Coast of Scotland and beyond. Our emphasis is on the fishermen who provide us with the freshest and most
sustainable produce, which we celebrate with knowledgeable yet satisfying cooking.

    The food looks divine!

Such a shame I’m a vegan now so I don’t get to enjoy any of that goodness!

Hope you had a lovely time in Edinburgh x

Ondine is one of our favourite Edinburgh Restaurants for Fish. White Horse Oyster Bar on the Mile is excellent too.
