Lunch At Cock N Bull Mere Green, Birmingham

28th October 2019 by Candace Leave a Comment

[REVIEW] Last week I was invited by Cock ‘N’ Bull for a meal at their bar in Mere Green. Cock ‘N’ Bull also has a second pub in Stourbridge which I have visited before.

If you are looking for somewhere with a relaxed atmosphere and a simple tasty food menu then a Cock ‘N’ Bull pub is probably for you. The drinks menu has a vast cocktail list, craft beers and an arrange of soft and hot drinks.

The Cock ‘N’ Bull serves a wide range of beef and chicken burgers, desserts and has a varied drinks menu as well as a varied breakfast/brunch menu.

The pub prides itself on its ‘filthy’ burgers; filthy because they contain so many different toppings as well as a selection of side dishes. All of the filthy burgers contain two free-range Herefordshire beef patties, which are served medium unless otherwise requested.

I picked the Bourbon Bull burger from the main menu with sweet potato fries.

The double burger was moist and flavoursome and was topped with tender slow-cooked pulled beef in a tasty sweet bourbon sauce with caramelised bourbon onions topped with maple bacon and served in a burger roll with lettuce and spiracha mayo.

The portions as extremely generous and the ingredients have been picked to complement each other and everything I have eaten at Cock ‘N’ Bull have always been delicious and extremely filling.

This was the first time that I had been to the Mere Green Cock ‘N’ Bull but I have visited the Stourbridge venue many times. Their Thai steak filthy fries are amazing as are the mother clucker chicken burgers. I’ve also popped in for a late breakfast and brunch at the weekend.

Cock ‘N’ Bull are open Sunday to Thursday 9am to 11pm and on Friday and Saturday until Midnight. Food is served all day until 9pm.
