[AD] Halloween is fast approaching, and many of us have already been out picking pumpkins and stocking up on sweets for the weekend. Halloween is a fun time of year for everyone, with people enjoying scary movies, dressing up as their favourite monsters and hosting fun parties with gruesome treats.

You don’t need a huge house to host the perfect Halloween bash, in fact you could set up a tent in your back garden and decorate the garden with skeletons and creepy masks to scare you visitors. You can buy some simple decorations from the store, hang up plenty of cobwebs and even invest in some special effects such as a smoke machine.  To make amazing, scary food for your guests you don’t need to be a culinary wizard, in fact people with a range of kitchens and abilities can pull together some impressive snacks for the hoard. Here are five fun and festive recipes to get you in the mood for a Spooktacular evening with your friends and family.

Jack-O-Lanterns (Stuffed Peppers)

For this recipe, you’ll need  the following:

  •         6 Orange Bell Peppers
  •         3 Cups Shredded Chicken
  •         1 Cup Barbecue Sauce
  •         1 Cup Monterey Jack Cheese

To start off, take the tops off your peppers and take out the seeds. Save the lids for later and carve faces into your peppers just like you would with a pumpkin. In a bowl, mix together the rest of the ingredients and stuff your peppers. Pop the lids back on and bake for 20 minutes at 200C.

Jack Skellington Oreo Pops

All you need for this recipe is:

  •         Oreos
  •         White Chocolate
  •         Black Icing
  •         Lollipop Sticks

Place your lollipop stick through the oreo. Melt some white chocolate and dunk your oreo sticks. Leave to cool and then ice on Jack’s face. Simple!
