Benefit Brow Shaping Kit

16th February 2016 by Candace 49 Comments

Eye brows. They’re funny things really but get their shape wrong and you will know all about it. I’ll be honest I’m useless at getting a good shape and always have them professionally done. My preferred choice is threading. I think it gives a neater shape for me and I think it hurts less.

I’ll let you in to a little secret. I’m not a natural blonde which means I have quite dark eye brows but the ends aren’t quite dark. This means they look quite uneven. I’m not a fan of drawn on slugs. I really don’t like this look at all. I very much prefer the natural make up look. A strong eye, a little blush and a nude lip. I’m certainly not a really smokey eye and red lipstick girl. I never have been.  My preferred eye brow kit is a powder. After trying most counters in my local department store, I settled on the bros shaping kit from benefit. The colour (light) seemed the most natural and even on a Saturday afternoon the girls on the counter were so helpful. I just couldn’t have faulted my experience.

The brow zing kit cost £24.50 and will last forever!

What would my top tip be for buying brow products? Go and visit the beauty counters and try out different products and take time before you buy a product. Make sure you feel comfortable. I know one counter wanted me to have slugs above my eyes. This was just not me, I looked like a clown in my opinion and it  just didn’t go with the natural look that I prefer.

eye brow palette

By no means am I an expert when it comes to make but what I do know is to take advantage of the knowledge of the ladies on the beauty counters and try a number of options before you buy. But try them for the day to see if you like the look and also to check if the product likes you. Then go back another day to buy the product. Ask for tips how to apply the products then go home and practice, practice and practice.

Your eyebrows look great! I’m not good with eyebrows either so a kit is useful. Every now and then I go to make up stores and have a look around and ask the ladies about their products. Sometimes, if I’m lucky, I get a free make-over:) Visiting your blog from #bloggerclubuk Facebook

I never really do my eyebrows, I always fear I’ll end up looking silly but I think with this brow shaping kit it’d be easier as it look more natural. Your eyebrows look lovely. xx

I’m not great with eyebrows either, and I have really dark hair so anything I do plucking wise is really obvious if I make a hash of it. When I do get them done, I always think I should keep up with them as they look much better!

Eyebrows are the only thing I still get done at the salon! They make such a difference when done right. I have HD Brows so use the powder pallet from there. I’ve tried the benefit one before but think I was sold the wrong colour as it always looked wrong!

Around six years ago, I hit a milestone. I was at a barbers and after my haircut had finished, the barber said “would you like me to do your eyebrows?”
My first thought was “would I like you to do what to my eyebrows?”
Apparently I’d reached an age where I needed something done to my eyebrows. Just over a week ago, for the first time ever, I agreed to let them do whatever to my eyebrows. They ran a set of clippers over them. All of them were shaved down to a relatively short length.
I hate it. My eyebrows weren’t quite Dennis Healey or Patrick Moore but they certainly had more character than the shorn stubble I have now. I’m disappointed in myself.
Lesson to all men. If you do have the odd wiry or unruly eyebrow hair, let your OH deal with it with something like this brow shaping kit. I guarantee the end result will be far more satisfactory than an over-zealous barber with a set of clippers.

The art of framing your face. I don’t remember my mother’s generation doing this, but the generation before did. The changing face of women.

Eyebrows are just one of them things that are difficult to get right yourself. I get mine waxed normally and then fill in when I wear wake up… I haven’t tried the benefit kit but will definitely give it a go as it sounds perfect for me. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve got wonky brows so I really should fill them in a bit – I’m trying to let the one shorter side grow a bit on the end to match them up, but I’m not sure it’s going to. I do need to get back to threading them though.

I have my eyebrows waxed every 6-8 weeks, as and when they need tidied up. I honestly don’t understand why brows are such a big deal nowadays – I’ve never used any sort of makeup to ‘enhance’ my brows as I don’t really think it’s something worth bothering with…

I’ve recently handed over the upkeep of my brows to the professionals as I have been guilty of massively overplucking. I’m trying to grow them back in, and we’re slowly regaining my natural shape, but in the meantime I like to fill them in with a pencil. I’ve used this Benefit kit in the past (and it really does last forever!) but my current favourite is the HD Brows pencil, kept really sharp, and you can just draw in the individual hairs you’re missing. It’s great!

Brows are so important to finish off your make up etc. I’m lucky to have a best friend who’s a beautician so she shapes and tints my brows then I maintain them with my benefit brow product (not the same as this one but very similar). x

I’ve gone from no brows to hairy brows to in between. These days I just use my eye shadow palette and that works just fine. I wouldn’t invest in this just because everyone has their own method when it comes to their brows and finally found one that suits me.
