Last month as part of Afternoon Tea week I went to the Park Regis hotel at Five Ways, Birmingham to have afternoon tea. Food is served in their restaurant which has a modern classic look with views over the city.  Tea was English breakfast with as many refills as we wanted.  Firstly we were served an amuse Boucher; a salmon mousse served in a pastry scone. Sandwiches were: Cucumber and mint and Cream cheese Honey roast gammon ham with Dijon mustard Rare roast beef with Horseradish and tomato, brioche bun Smoked salmon and chive creme fraîche wrap Next were the… View Post

A couple of weeks ago for Afternoon Tea week I went to the Steakhouse Bar And Grill on the 25th floor of The Cube, Birmingham which is owned by Marco Pierre White.  The Steakhouse is decorated in a very modern theme, all black and white with a touch of colour here and there in the classic decorations. The bar is all ultra modern with shiny chrome and glass with a touch of orange lighting.  the room is large and airy and has a very opulent feel to it with a number of large comfy sofas over looking an outside balcony which… View Post

Last week was Afternoon Tea Week and me being me decided it was a perfect opportunity to partake in an afternoon tea or two!  On Monday, I made my way in to Birmingham to the Hotel Du Vin in the city centre. The bar was decorated very classy with leather benches and armchairs.  A good selection of drinks were on display. The afternoon tea was served in the room in the middle of the hotel which had a glass ceiling.  I picked the Mighty Assam tea which according to the Hotel Du Vin is “mighty by name, mighty by nature.… View Post

This week it is Afternoon Tea week.  I don’t really think I need an excuse to have afternoon tea but I thought it would be very rude not to help celebrate.  A few weeks ago when I came back from Scotland I went with a lovely friend of mine to Malmaison Hotel in The Mailbox in Birmingham for afternoon tea.  we had been wanting to go here for quite sometime and we were not disappointed one bit.The served was English Breakfast tea and was quite light in colour and had a delicate taste.  If I’m being honest I would have perhaps… View Post

This afternoon tea was taken back in March before I was ill for my birthday.  It seems such a long time ago now but this afternoon tea was rather delicious and I really would love to go back and have another tea here at the Castle Hotel in Conwy. Firstly the tea, it was a lovely English breakfast tea which is my favourite.  The sandwiches were out of this world.  I had egg, roast beef and cheese.  The beef just melted in my mouth and the bread was so fresh and tasty.  The cheese which was accompanied by a lovely… View Post

Whilst in Scotland on my little Scottish Adventure I continued my afternoon tea adventures at the gorgeous Balmoral Hotel on Princes Steet. The tea was served in the Palm Court which is a truly stunning room with giant palm trees and beautifully painted walls. The furniture was all big comfy sofas and chairs in the centre and around the outside the room was decorated in a more traditional dining setting. Really was a beautifully classic setting for afternoon tea. Upon arrival I was settled at my table and asked what type of tea I would like. I asked for English Breakfast… View Post

I’ve just returned from a lovely last minute trip to Edinburgh. I’ve never been to Scotland before and although I am nowhere near feeling 100% I decided to just grab the bull by the horns as they say and jump right in. I’m in need of catching up on some afternoon teas in order to complete my afternoon tea challenge and decided I’d jump right in to the Edinburgh Afternoon Tea scene and partake in a few cullinery delights that Scotland has to offer. I was lucky enough to have 2 afternoon teas and 2 cream teas. I also sampled… View Post

March’s afternoon tea was taken at La Tour hotel in Birmingham.  The hotel is a modern beautifully decorated 4 star hotel in Birmingham City Centre.  I have been lucky enough to have had afternoon tea here before and loved it that much I decided to make a return visit. The hotel opened in 2012 as part of Birmingham’s regeneration plans and has a modern elegant feel to it.  Marco Pierre White also has his first ever English Chophouse contained within the hotel which specialises in high quality meat cuts which are prepared with precision by trained staff. I was served… View Post
