I have been for afternoon tea at Malmaison before and found it to be a really nice selection of dishes.  The festive menu includes a glass of prosecco. and unlimited tea or coffee. The tea was served on a modern metal and slate stand which is ideal as a Malmaison Afternoon Tea has quite a modern feel to it with sliders and brioche buns instead of sandwiches. For the festive tea Malmaison have stayed with their nontraditional savoury selection which includes: Turkey, cranberry and stuffing wrap Mal slider pig in blanket brioche roll The fruit scone is served with jam and… View Post

One of the lovely things about the festive season is arrival of festive afternoon teas.  Last week I was lucky yo go to London and sample the amazing festive tea at Ruben’s At The Palace.  As the name suggests Ruben’s in by Buckingham Palace, in fact you look over the road to the Royal Mews whilst enjoying you tea.  The tea room had been decorated for the festive season and the tables were dressed with pristine white table cloths and red ribbons.  There was a lovely selection of teas available to suit all tastes and I enjoyed a glass of Kir… View Post

During a day of shopping in Chester I had afternoon tea at The Chester Grosvenor.  This was a real treat that I had been hoping to do for some time and it did not disappoint one little bit.  We were seated at our table in a quite relaxing lounge with comfy chairs and elegant coffee tables.  We were quickly served with our choice of tea in the most beautiful silver tea service. We were brought our afternoon tea on a lovely silver 3 tier cake stand.  Here you can see a afternoon tea on the middle tier and a gentleman’s… View Post

It seems such a long time ago now but over the August Bank holiday weekend I went with some friends for afternoon tea at Browns in Birmingham after a few hours shopping in the Bullring.  This was my first time in Brown’s in Birmingham but whilst in Scotland in June I had visited their bar in Edinburgh.  We started with a round of Raspberry Cherry Collins which is a mix of Absolut Raspberry, Absolut Cherry, lemon juice and soda in a iced filled glass with a fresh raspberry garnish.  It was so refreshing we had to have another! The pots… View Post

Last week I met with a friend at The Belfry Hotel and Golf Resort just north of Birmingham for afternoon tea and cocktails.  The Belfry is surrounded by over 500 acres of countryside and perfectly located to explore the West Midlands and further afield. The hotel and golf resort offers luxury guest bedrooms and suites, meeting and event rooms.  There is also a spa and health club plus the world famous championship golf courses. As well as a choice of 11 teas or coffees there is also an extensive cocktail menu and choice of champagne to accompany your afternoon tea.   The… View Post

I think it’s safe to say I like afternoon tea and the best part for me is the buckets of tea that are there to be drunk.  My favourite tea is from Fortum and Mason.  For me they really do have the most delightful tea and I feel tea always needs to be loose leaf and always needs to be made in a pot.  We had arrived a little earlier than our afternoon tea was booked for and while we waited we had a look around the shop.  I really love the store and the aroma of all of the loose tea… View Post

I think it’s safe to say that I am a huge fan of Afternoon Tea.  At the beginning of the year I set myself a goal to have Afternoon Tea every month.  I think it is safe to say I have managed that apart from May when I was in hospital for the whole month.  However, I did manage to sneak an extra afternoon tea in to make up for missing one in May.  If I’m honest I’ve sneaked in quite a few more extra ones.  Recently The 2017 Afternoon Tea awards were announced and these were the five winners: Best… View Post

At the beginning of last month I revisited Scotland.  This time I went to Stirling, Perth, Edinburgh and Glasgow.  After a lovely sunny day spent exploring all that Stirling had to offer; coffee shops, the castle, stunning views, bagpipers and the most picturesque church all of a sudden the heavens opened and there was a need to take shelter.  We found ourselves outside a hotel and decided to pop in and take shelter.  By now we were quite hungry as we hadn’t eaten since breakfast that morning and decided this looked like a lovely place to ave something to eat.… View Post
