Finding The Perfect Christmas Tree

The evergreen fir tree has traditionally been used to celebrate winter festivals (pagan and Christian) for thousands of years. It is not certain why fir trees were first used as Christmas trees.  throughout Europe other early Christmas trees were either cherry or hawthorn plants that were placed in pots and bought inside so they would hopefully flower at Christmas time. If you were unable to afford a real tree then pyramids of wood were decorated paper, apples and candles.

In 2017 there are many decorative festive artificial trees are available to decorate our homes.  There is the more traditional tree and decorations in traditional colours of red and gold available.

Christmas trees brighten our homes this time of year and as well as the traditional real or artificial fir trees there are many modern designs available to suit not only our taste in design but also the space we have available in our homes.  With room sizes being much less smaller than they were say 50 years ago, we too often now struggle to find room for a Christmas tree that doesn’t take over the entire room.  A simple design like this Frosted Pine Pre Lit tree from Cox And Cox can be an ideal solution where space is limited.

Pre lit trees also mean you do not have the added adventure of spending a couple of hours untangling your Christmas lights.  I don’t know about you but no matter how tidy I think I have packed them away they always come out of the loft the next December all tangled up!

Ultra modern trees like this Silhouette Tree are extremely modern and minimalist and can bring calm to your home whilst still celebrating the festive season without compromising your homes minimalist look.

Sometimes we may not have space for a tree in our living rooms or would like an additional tree in the hallway.  At times like this a simple hanging tree like this Frosted Branches Hanging Tree will be ideal with it’s decorations and lights already attached.  I really love the idea of this hanging tree and think it would look fantastic hanging in our lounge window and be very decorative from outside.

If you are lucky enough to have an outdoor space, this modern pre lit Magical Outdoor Tree would make a stunning look to your home during the festive period. If a real fir tree is your preference then a few new decorations may brighten up your tree this year and give it a modern twist.
What sort of tree are you going to have this year?  A traditional fir with red and gold or are you going ultra modern with a minimalist silver tree?
