Things I’m Loving (July 2016)

The Day Job

What can I say about those cute painted wooden animals?  By day I own and run an independent toy shop. When we moved back to The Midlands not only did I have a house move to contend with along with not feeling well but I also had a business to relocate.

As well as running an online business I also had a shop that needed to be moved too. It took some time to find premises here in the right location and at the right price. After much searching we found ourselves a new shop.

At the beginning of May we signed the paperwork and picked the keys up. Then the fun began; moving an entire shop just over 100 miles and starting all over again. We are now three months in to our new venture and I can honestly say despite the hard work I’m loving my job.

Crafting

Scrapbook is a hobby that I love. I have for many years now but sadly life and chronic illness get in the way. I’m a big fan of Stampin Up and used to be a demo but about 15 months ago I stopped being s demo. Life got nuts and I didn’t have time. But lately I’ve decided I need more time for me. More time to enjoy the things I love. I took the plunge lady month and signed back up as a demo. I’ve been busy behind the scenes with my crafting blog and have a number of draft posts I need to work on. But I’m living getting back to crafting and having me time. If you like crafting and would like to purchase some Stampin Up product please get in touch with me at craftycandace@yahoo.co.uk

Meals Out

I was lucky to be invited to a restaurant opening in Birmingham st the end of June. During July I ate at the restaurant twice. On both occasions the food was delicious and the hospitality spit on. If you’re a fan of French food I can thou fly recommend Le Bistrot Pierre on Broad Street Birmingham. They also have a number of restaurants around the country.

Blogger Invites

Since moving back to Birmingham I’ve had the opportunity to go to some lovely blogger events. I especially loved the blogger evening at Farrindon & Forbes at Resort World Birmingham. Such a lovely boutique shop with amazing smelling candles and cute home decor items. The hanging hearts are just adorable.

Sunny Days At The Seaside

What’s not to love about a day at the seaside which is made even better by the sun shining down.

These are my favourite things for July. What have you been loving this past month?

Wow I love the look of your shop, it’s a shame we don’t live closer! And I am also a craft lover, although my hobby also took a back seat in favour of children and writing during recent years. I want to get back into stamping, however, and have not yet used Stampin’ Up products, although I have seen them on the TV shopping channel. And yes, everybody loves the seaside! 🙂

Such a shame for you to move away from the seaside, but the store looks great and the food looks fantastic! I am also from the Midlands and my fiance and his family were thinking of moving to the seaside. I’m a little apprehensive as here is my home. Good luck with everything.

Oh my goodness your shop looks beautiful a real treasure trove! I usually detest kids shops (Smyths, Toys R Us = hell on earth) but your shop- looks beautiful and somewhere to explore. It’s great your taking time for yourself too we all need to do more of that. Xo
