Benefit Brow Shaping Kit

Eye brows. They’re funny things really but get their shape wrong and you will know all about it. I’ll be honest I’m useless at getting a good shape and always have them professionally done. My preferred choice is threading. I think it gives a neater shape for me and I think it hurts less.

I’ll let you in to a little secret. I’m not a natural blonde which means I have quite dark eye brows but the ends aren’t quite dark. This means they look quite uneven. I’m not a fan of drawn on slugs. I really don’t like this look at all. I very much prefer the natural make up look. A strong eye, a little blush and a nude lip. I’m certainly not a really smokey eye and red lipstick girl. I never have been.

My preferred eye brow kit is a powder. After trying most counters in my local department store, I settled on the bros shaping kit from benefit. The colour (light) seemed the most natural and even on a Saturday afternoon the girls on the counter were so helpful. I just couldn’t have faulted my experience.

The brow zing kit cost £24.50 and will last forever!

What would my top tip be for buying brow products? Go and visit the beauty counters and try out different products and take time before you buy a product. Make sure you feel comfortable. I know one counter wanted me to have slugs above my eyes. This was just not me, I looked like a clown in my opinion and it  just didn’t go with the natural look that I prefer.

By no means am I an expert when it comes to make but what I do know is to take advantage of the knowledge of the ladies on the beauty counters and try a number of options before you buy. But try them for the day to see if you like the look and also to check if the product likes you. Then go back another day to buy the product. Ask for tips how to apply the products then go home and practice, practice and practice.

Fantastic eyebrows! I am a natural ginger with invisible eyebrows so they’re quite minimal in effort. 😉

I use the MUA brow kit to fill in my brows as mine are so fair u cn hardly see them. I’ll have to have a look at benefits one.

Your eyebrows look great! I’m not good with eyebrows either so a kit is useful. Every now and then I go to make up stores and have a look around and ask the ladies about their products. Sometimes, if I’m lucky, I get a free make-over:) Visiting your blog from #bloggerclubuk Facebook

I am terrible with my brows, I usually get fed up with them and pop into somewhere when out shopping. I would love to be able to do them myself x

I have to say I have no idea how to tackle my eyebrows – I end up making them look awful! x

I never really do my eyebrows, I always fear I’ll end up looking silly but I think with this brow shaping kit it’d be easier as it look more natural. Your eyebrows look lovely. xx

I’m not great with eyebrows either, and I have really dark hair so anything I do plucking wise is really obvious if I make a hash of it. When I do get them done, I always think I should keep up with them as they look much better!

Eyebrows are the only thing I still get done at the salon! They make such a difference when done right. I have HD Brows so use the powder pallet from there. I’ve tried the benefit one before but think I was sold the wrong colour as it always looked wrong!

Around six years ago, I hit a milestone. I was at a barbers and after my haircut had finished, the barber said “would you like me to do your eyebrows?”
My first thought was “would I like you to do what to my eyebrows?”
Apparently I’d reached an age where I needed something done to my eyebrows. Just over a week ago, for the first time ever, I agreed to let them do whatever to my eyebrows. They ran a set of clippers over them. All of them were shaved down to a relatively short length.
I hate it. My eyebrows weren’t quite Dennis Healey or Patrick Moore but they certainly had more character than the shorn stubble I have now. I’m disappointed in myself.
Lesson to all men. If you do have the odd wiry or unruly eyebrow hair, let your OH deal with it with something like this brow shaping kit. I guarantee the end result will be far more satisfactory than an over-zealous barber with a set of clippers.

The art of framing your face. I don’t remember my mother’s generation doing this, but the generation before did. The changing face of women.

Eyebrows are just one of them things that are difficult to get right yourself. I get mine waxed normally and then fill in when I wear wake up… I haven’t tried the benefit kit but will definitely give it a go as it sounds perfect for me. Thanks for sharing.

Your eyebrows look great. I get mine threaded, I love the shape you get from it. I have poder put in them at the salon but don’t use it at home x

  15. 22nd February 2016 / 8:50 PM

Great tips. I have only just started making an effort with my eyebrows. Yours look great!

  16. 22nd February 2016 / 8:56 PM

I used to own this palette and it does literally last forever! Unless you lose it like I did.. but it’s great!

My brows are my worst feature, they have almost grown back after being butchered a few years ago x

  18. 22nd February 2016 / 9:35 PM

I keep meaning to get a brow shaping kit. I was actually talking to a friend a few days ago that I need to look after my brows a bit more! 🙂

I use powder too and am quite good at filling in my brows. The only problem I have is that it does not stand out on camera enough when I am doing shoots so I need to make them darker without making them look like slugs lol!

  20. 22nd February 2016 / 10:39 PM

I’ve got wonky brows so I really should fill them in a bit – I’m trying to let the one shorter side grow a bit on the end to match them up, but I’m not sure it’s going to. I do need to get back to threading them though.

  21. 22nd February 2016 / 11:11 PM

I remember trying this kit out and I loved it but I must confess not to have used it for a while now as I am lazy when it comes to doing makeup or just touch up my eyebrows

  22. 23rd February 2016 / 12:07 AM

Your brows are looking fabulous! I haven’t tried this kit before but it looks virtually identical to the Sleek brow kit xxx

  23. 23rd February 2016 / 10:56 AM

Looks great! I use the Work The Colour kit and it’s taken me a while to get the hang of it – and even now I’m not totally happy with them! When this one runs out I may have a look at Benefits x

  24. 23rd February 2016 / 11:06 AM

I don’t have a brow kit, I just use a brown kohl eyeliner. Only cost me £1.99 and works wonders.

  25. 23rd February 2016 / 11:49 AM

I have my eyebrows waxed every 6-8 weeks, as and when they need tidied up. I honestly don’t understand why brows are such a big deal nowadays – I’ve never used any sort of makeup to ‘enhance’ my brows as I don’t really think it’s something worth bothering with…

  26. 23rd February 2016 / 12:19 PM

That Benefit brow kit looks so good, I need to try it!

I love shaping my eyebrows. I think, I spend more time on my eyebrows than any of my makeup routines. I normally use mac eyeshadows or any eyeshadows. It also works wonders.

  28. 23rd February 2016 / 1:31 PM

I’ve recently handed over the upkeep of my brows to the professionals as I have been guilty of massively overplucking. I’m trying to grow them back in, and we’re slowly regaining my natural shape, but in the meantime I like to fill them in with a pencil. I’ve used this Benefit kit in the past (and it really does last forever!) but my current favourite is the HD Brows pencil, kept really sharp, and you can just draw in the individual hairs you’re missing. It’s great!

  29. 23rd February 2016 / 3:01 PM

I love Benefit products for brows! I’ve got one of their brow mascaras and it works wonders so think I’ll upgrade to this when that runs out 🙂

  30. 23rd February 2016 / 3:16 PM

I have a kit similar to this but mine is a different name, I love it. They make your eyebrows look so much neater

  31. 23rd February 2016 / 4:56 PM

Brows are so important to finish off your make up etc. I’m lucky to have a best friend who’s a beautician so she shapes and tints my brows then I maintain them with my benefit brow product (not the same as this one but very similar). x

  32. 23rd February 2016 / 8:34 PM

I love this kit, I’m a huge fan of benefit palettes and I’ve always found their eyebrow items are really good x

I’ve gone from no brows to hairy brows to in between. These days I just use my eye shadow palette and that works just fine. I wouldn’t invest in this just because everyone has their own method when it comes to their brows and finally found one that suits me.

  34. 23rd February 2016 / 9:48 PM

This looks great, I can never get good looking brows so think this would be something useful to try

  35. 23rd February 2016 / 11:00 PM

I could do more with my brows, this kit looks fab, I’ll check it out thank you!

  36. 24th February 2016 / 8:09 AM

I’ve heard good things about he benefit kit. I use a soap and glory eyebrow pencil for my brows!

I am on the look out for some tools to help me work on my eyebrows, thanks for this!

  38. 24th February 2016 / 8:46 PM

I love Benefit products and this sounds great. I don’t really do anything with my eyebrows though about from plucking. Definitely need to get them into shape.

Ive never used a eye brow kit before. I agree that the Slug look doesn’t look great!

  41. 26th February 2016 / 1:13 PM

I’ve seen these before, luckily I have crazy big eyebrows but..my sister has tiny little ones and she swears by her brow kit! xx

  42. 27th February 2016 / 10:26 PM

I don’t suit heavily defined eyebrows either – it’s just a trend and we have to do what looks and feels right for us. I use powder too (just a cheapie from Rimmel).
You brows look lovely, I think you definitely made the right choice and your tips about trying at the counter first are really useful 🙂

I also love threading and a powder. Annoyed that so many others have got into threading because it’s pushed the price up! I have some massive chunks missing so I fillthose bits with pencil and then go over with a powder. #BloggerClubUK
